The school continues to be a ‘harmonious’ place this term!
Miss Luckins’ Thursday lunchtime choir have been learning to ‘sing with their hands’. We raised £17.30 for SignHealth (a charity which supports deaf children) as we performed the song ‘Friends Forever’ using British Sign Language. You can see the performance on the screen in the playground. Thank you for your kind donations.
Drumming club takes place with Miss Luckins on Wednesday lunchtimes. We have been exploring different types of drums, as well as the different sounds that can be produced on a drum. The children have learnt skills of beat and rhythm, listening and working together, and basic notation. We will be performing in front of our friends at a celebration assembly soon!
Flute and Keyboard lessons
Mrs Lyne has continued teaching some of our children to play the flute (fife) and/ or the keyboard. The children have been practising their listening and performing skills; recalling different lengths of notes (rhythm); and have been learning basic notation of notes C, D, E, F and G in the treble clef (right hand).
Please ask if you would like more information on how your child can be involved with extra musical activities in school!
