A Welcome from Mrs Purdue

Welcome to our school website!

Relationships are central to life at Howden Church of England Infant School. We believe that the way children and adults interact, support one another and build trust forms the foundation for every aspect of school life and underpins the success of our community.

Our curriculum is ambitious, carefully sequenced and enriched with purposeful experiences, visits and visitors. Children contribute to shaping their learning journeys, and their interests help guide the direction of study. We want every child to develop curiosity, confidence and a genuine enjoyment of learning.

The Howden 3Ls shape the way we work and learn together each day:

  • Learn well together – linked to our values of Curiosity and Joy

  • Live well together – linked to our value of Respect

  • Look after one another – linked to our values Family and Nurture

These principles support a safe, nurturing and respectful environment for all pupils.

Our vision, ‘Roots to grow so together we flourish’, reflects our commitment to ensuring every child feels known, valued and encouraged to thrive academically, socially and personally. This vision is strengthened by the dedication of our staff, the support of our families, the involvement of our governors and our close relationship with Howden Minster.

As part of The Education Alliance MAT, we share a wider purpose: to contribute to strong schools and strong communities so that people can lead happier, more fulfilling lives.

Thank you for visiting our website. We hope it provides a clear sense of our values, our approach and the opportunities available to our children. If you would like to arrange a visit, please contact the school office on 01430 430767.
